I ended up finding a clamp light fixture that looks very similar to Gardeners version but for cheaper on Amazon.
Simple Delux clamp light HIWKLCLAMPLIGHT $7.96 and similar ligt bulb Miracle LED grow light bulb $16.99.
    So far both working great.
On Gardeners it was $19.95 for each item.
I love Gardeners stuff for things I cant find elsewhere. Lovely stuff but not cheap.

Hi, I got lithops , what kind of light is the best for this kind of plants? LED, red and blue or any other?
    I would appreciate your feedback.

Hi dear. I was not going to buy 3 head grow lamps again. Though with the experience of this seller and how my plants so love this brand, as it is actually yellow light and not your ordinary led 3 headed grow light. Far superior quality then the other sellers I bought from. (stronger) brighter. It is yellow and not white light. The plants love it so much better. The seller is super awesome to deal with and answers each day. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B086X388MB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have no Amazon prime. I cancelled it and it comes in 2 days super fast. Stalk up now before winter. The price keeps going up and up on these. Buy the best and forget the rest. I get nothing for this. I’m just saying. Niello seller has great 3 headed grow lights!! I like the fact you can clip to the back of a shelf and put 2 up and one down or visa versa. I have 5 of these and they work great!!

  6. LazyStray on December 6, 2020 at 9:21 pm

I feel like you could make a lot of these for a fraction of the price if you just knew more about what lighting to get. Making adjustable shelves and putting a light bulb on the top really isn’t all that complicated, and needn’t require spending hundreds of pounds on it…

On the first light, you talked about the fixture, but not the bulb. Was this an LED? There was no mention of what type of bulb it was.- I’m wondering, how many watts was it? Is the spectrum of light emitted by an LED correct for plants? Thank you- You used a fluorescent bulb for the second- was this a T5 bulb? Are all fluorescent bulbs capable of being grow lights? Thanks

  14. Jennifer Bolt on December 6, 2020 at 9:27 pm

I was just wondering what your thoughts are on red/blue grow lights? I just bought one for my succulents and golden pothos that I’m trying to propagate. Does red/blue LED grow lights work as well as the white lights? I thought I had done my research before buying, but now I’m questioning my decision. 😂

COSTCO has a 5 level, book shelf, and is excellent for growing plants, heavy plastic heavy duty shelf for only, $39.00 dollars in Mobile Alabama store.

  21. C G on December 6, 2020 at 9:37 pm

$600??!!!? No way! You got to be kidding me. Just buy a stackable fixture or build one out of PVC pipes. Than buy the light separate.

Can i use a normal Ikea lamps/bulbs to my succulents and ficus?

  23. music lover on December 6, 2020 at 9:40 pm

Thank you for recommending the grow light system. I bought the Gardener’s Supply Company LED Grow Light Stand, Heavy Duty 3-Tier with Plant Trays from Amazon. Its working out quite well. We assembled it on Dec 15 and now can see new leaf growth in the succulents.

  24. SolarWinds AuroraBorealis on December 6, 2020 at 9:40 pm

II have not seen an answer to my emails from Gardener’s supply and they don’t sell bulbs to go in the clamp light fixture. Can you alleviate my concerns? I’m concerned I will not be able to find the full spectrum grow light bulb that will fit in the threaded socket. I’m also concerned that it will not be enough light for my plants. I have a succulent plant bowl that is about 16" with 5 succulents and cactus.

what is the best led light for plants warm light or cool light?

  26. Jason Sandoval on December 6, 2020 at 9:44 pm

You should never Touch any light 💡 bulb with your bare hands!!!

  27. Susan L Solarz on December 6, 2020 at 9:46 pm

Why not use any of the various LED light systems for indoor plant growth?

  28. jonathan Price - Williams on December 6, 2020 at 9:46 pm

If it is not a shiny aluminum bright surface, ? Add a piece of aluminum foil just behind the bulbs, to direct light downward to your veggie surface, and keep all 2 or 4 foot long grow tubes, just 4 to 6" above the surface of the seeding, and add MYLAR, or emergency sleeping blanket all along the sides of your lights. A small fan at 5 to 6 feet away, on low speed, on for 15 minutes, and off for 4 hours will add Celuolose to your plant stalks, and will keep from hot, cold pockets.

Hi i am trying to grow some culinary herbs and i am on the look for some affordable grow lights, i saw amazon has some goose neck LED lights but are they any good for culinary herbs?? Thanks

  32. Leslie Kendall on December 6, 2020 at 9:49 pm

Does Grower’s Supply have light systems to just light the entire living room? I don’t need the shelves just over-head lights for all the plants in the room.

  33. Enrico Mantales on December 6, 2020 at 9:49 pm

    Too expensive

  34. JeffTheHokie on December 6, 2020 at 9:55 pm

Plain shop lights are often better than a lot of the smaller grow lights. While "grow lights" may technically put out a better spectrum, the ones marketed towards legal gardeners for seed-starting are WAY too under-powered. You can get as picky as you want about the quality of the spectrum, but with light QUANTITY is important. Two cool white shop lights side-by-side would seriously outperform the countertop system.

I’m glad there are ready made pulleys out there. Thx for suggesting! Been looking for easier ways to hang my new horizontal growlights.

  39. mattzx77 on December 6, 2020 at 10:04 pm

My problem with all these systems is they are good for starting seeds and grown cactus and short herbs but not much else. Also 2bulbs isnt enough light. Once again great for seedlings, sprouts etc but not much else Cant grow peepers tomatoes and the like. I ended up building a 5 foot long 5ft high light stand out of PVC pipe that holds one 8 bulb t5 refector. Also the system at the end is $900 before shipping and tax LOL. My system (which you could make with shelves) around $200 and takes literally minutes to put together and can be taken down just as fast

Hello, I love your videos so much. I have a odd question for you. For years I had full planted fish tanks with expensive LED grow lights on top. Would I be able to use these grow lights for my potted plants in my house now that I no longer have aquariums? They are very powerful and I’d like to repurpose them if possible because they are pretty much brand new. Thank you.

What do you recommend for a small indoor lemon 🍋 plant? I was thinking of getting a Hydrofarm stand up light.

You should visit woodprix website if you would like to make it by yourself I think.

I honestly am in love with my newest lights they are LEDs. I’m a plant scientist and I’ve been doing lots of videos in regards to the science of lighting indoors. From how long to run your lights to distance etc. https://youtu.be/bCD4nJNkmxE

  50. Abbi Williams on December 6, 2020 at 10:16 pm

Just the video I was looking for! I’m in N.E. US and I was afraid my plants wouldn’t make it through the winter if I waited to repot them. I also realize they need more sunlight than their normal resting place can provide. I’ve been moving them from area to area throughout the day to get them the light they need. They love it, but the lamp will definitely help.
