I live in Fla so Im worried what to do for hurricanes . Cant lose filters cause lites are off. We need something for no power weeks. Battery pumps @bait shop are ok but solar would be nice too. And tryin videos would be nice for bout anything. You go girl. Jim Baldwin

  9. baikia777 on December 27, 2020 at 10:34 pm

You could make a DIY internal canister filter with that pump.

  10. Jay Miller on December 27, 2020 at 10:34 pm

Hmm, cute little gadget, but if it’s not able to operate in the evening when mosquitos are out laying eggs…

  11. Roboster Sam on December 27, 2020 at 10:36 pm

Pepper just wanted mommy’s attention. My Sugar Bug does the same thing. While my Tom girl does a run by meowing.

  17. Yorky One on December 27, 2020 at 10:41 pm

I wonder if it would work better with a tin foil reflector around the panel (or if it would just break it). Next project build an extension for Pepper…

  20. Alan S on December 27, 2020 at 10:48 pm

Should work fine in an Australian summer. But I would get a bigger one anyway. Thanks Rachel, perhaps don’t go to far into the really cheap end of products ? But I like what you are doing.

What is the name of the plant with the white leafed spikey flower in front of the cat patio?

I absolutely love Peppers narrative. She has quite the opinion of the solar pump.🐈

  23. michael dev on December 27, 2020 at 10:50 pm

Can you try a strong solar pump that can be directly plugged in to a 100 watts solar panel

    Thank you

So the solar pump works, but would not be a viable solution for continuous use. Have you guys used any that really worked well? Is this a series you would like to see continue?

It may work, it may work all this season, but the real question is will it start up next season? I’m prepared to keep watching and wait.

  29. Per Shop on December 27, 2020 at 11:01 pm

Thanks for your video about this product. Based on the reviews, I believe it works. My question is, how long will it work for?

Without batteries, it could be good to go.

Most of the solar items I’ve bought that should be used when the sky is cloudy or a few hours into the night, it keeps going bad because the batteries seem to be crappy and don’t hold charge over time.

So a solar item without batteries — maybe it does keep just working since it receives the power directly without depending on cheap batteries.

*"What wrong with pepper, I just want to go out & play with the butter flies and chase a lizard. I want to roll in the grass, and jump and smell the leaves and taste the frogs. I want to climb a tree. It is cruel to leave a cat locked up in doors for its entire life. Where is your humanity!!!???!!!*

The solar panel cannot get wet? 😢
Where did you put the panel so it was close enough to the bin while staying dry? Is there anything we could do to make it waterproof so it can be kept next to the bin?
