I don’t have a garden. I love the way you teach all this stuff and I really want to grow my own vegetables but the only space I have available is the roof of the builing I live in. Do you have any videos on how to build a garden like this in a wooden planter? Or is it even possible? I want a couple tomatoes and maybe one or two peppers. I might have like a 4X3 space to do it. I’d love it if you could help me a little. Thank you, greetings from Mexico!

Do you need to test the soil for toxicity before you start your garden?

My garden planting is no problem. It’s the insects. The stink bugs, caterpillars 🐛 and Gnats. They have destroyed my garden before I can harvest the veggies.

When I was a kid (in the 50s and 60s), we didn’t call them cherry tomatoes. Everyone called them "tommy-toe" or tommy-toe tomatoes. I still call them that.

  15. Aida Naseri on February 5, 2021 at 3:28 pm

When you say after they start flowering to spread seeds somewhere else do you mean in the same area? Or a completely new area? Sorry, complete beginner here!

  16. EvenStar LoveAnanda on February 5, 2021 at 3:30 pm

It seams like it is cheaper to buy vegetables then to grow them including all the work and watering every day.
I am not a farmer and this seams to take too much time and work in a small Scale like this.

Appreciate video content! Sorry for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you thought about – Parlandealey Impetigo Goodbye Process (do a google search)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for learning how to grow your own organic vegetables using hydroponics minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend Sam got astronomical success with it.

Hi Gary, what if you have very heavy wet clay soil? would you try and remove more of it and add more garden mix? I havent started yet but I dont think it will mix as easily as the soil in your vido

I have watched hours and hours of your videos, but my seedlings are not as sturdy as yours. How long do you wait before transplanting? They look about 8 weeks old.

  30. Sharon Craig on February 5, 2021 at 3:50 pm

    found
out today as a woman disabled working in a garden ,with my walker by my side for support
found that a pitch fork works better
cuz can’t push my foot down on shovel, or would possibly risk falling over
the pitch fork is like a fork used to control spaghetti
twirling it breaks up ground without
the need for power in legs
    i’m upper body strong
wouldn’t it be great if there were videos for HANDICAPPED gardeners?

Thank you!! I haven’t gardened for years (5-8). I used to just plant and go… no thought whatsoever to soil quality or bugs. Luckily I’ve only killed 2 plants over the years (20). I’m in CA’s Central Valley. I have more free time now, a huge yard, and two boxes built. I want to be self sufficient so this time I’m learning everything I can. I love your series… a happy accident.
