A model has created an oasis in the middle of New York City by cramming 500 plants into her apartment. Self confessed “crazy plant lady” Summer Rayne Oakes decided to turn her Brooklyn apartment into a forest after her roommate moved out six years ago. Since then she has expanded the collection in her 1,200 square foot apartment and now has more than 150 plant species including a full forest wall, pineapple plants and even a banana tree.

I grew up in Ireland, now I live in the city ( u.k ) and if I’m around concrete for to long I tend to go …nuts!!😆, as soon as I’m around the ocean or countryside I feel like I can breathe again. Love what you’ve done, will be following your lead, maybe not quite as many plants though😁. X

I want my indoors to look like this, and my yard full of veggies and fruit trees. A nice flower patch to attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Just picturing it makes me feel so good.

I’m in a VERY small 3 bedrm apt with three other people, 3 dogs a cat and a hamster. I’m trying to garden inside. Tips, advice, anything would be helpful.
The lady actually supplies 90% if oxygen to carbon monoxide-filled NYC.
