Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

Hi 👋 squirrels are digging up any seeds I put in the ground and even seedlings about 4-5 inches, they eat. They steal blooms off my dwarf plant as soon as they start to open 😥 do you know anything I can do?

  10. Cathy holmes on March 22, 2021 at 10:55 pm

Yup, everytime i try to sow sunflower seeds outside, the birds and squirrels eat them every dang time!

Hi, I am a beginner, so please bare with me. I have/had the really tall sunflowers…. then we had a storm and they blew straight out of the ground.. so I fixed that and made it more sturdy… anyway they opened up and they were amazing!!!! So the sees are still in the flower part, do we call it a bulb? Anyway can I just plant the flower bulb that has had its day, and will it produce more when it’s ready?

  28. Chamique Solis on March 22, 2021 at 11:19 pm

Hello! Can I plant sunflower seeds in any kind of soil? Or do they need a special kind? Thank you!

  29. Anonymous on March 22, 2021 at 11:20 pm

my parents gave me full permission to start a garden and they’re worried because I’m making plans for it which they think is stressful but? No I’m happy to have a garden it’s not stressful at all I’m just excited
They’re not Plant People so anything involving the care of plants is a bit daunting and stress inducing for them T.T

Chipmunks or squirrels ate almost all of my sunflower plants when they were about 6-8" tall. How can I keep that from happening next year?

  31. Julie Puhr on March 22, 2021 at 11:21 pm

Glad to hear u don’t direct seed. A visual of how u did plant would be helpful because u went through that fast and I am a visual learner

  44. Batul N on March 22, 2021 at 11:36 pm

Hello, i want to ask about browning/yellowing of leaves. Some of my baby sunflowers’ bottom leaves have a brown color at their tips and others have a yellowish color before they become very crispy and eventually crumble and die. But I assume it’s Not overwatering as they’re blooming just fine. One baby flower opened yesterday! So what am I doing wrong? Are they not getting enough water? And how much water do they need per day? Thanks.

Wish I’d seen your video a few weeks ago! I made a garden bed and sowed some seeds…within a few days they all popped up. Next morning, there were holes in the bed and ALL my seedlings were GONE!
