Awesome story. At 36 with bad back problems from 20+ years working in a factory making a rich man richer while barely making enough to get by, I wish I made better choices.

Sure, it’s easy to start a business when you’re a kid. You get free health insurance from your parents and if your business fails, you still get to go home and sleep in your bed at the end of the day. This advice is useless on adults because they’d have to risk insanely more to achieve the same thing.

hard work and determination, thats how I did it.No sitting around when I was younger,my old man forced us to work,im glad he did.I went to trade school, got a ticket, worked UNION and NON UNION.Invested in heavy equipment and now am phasing out corporations and working for myself.GET A TRADE,ANY TRADE,then branch out,and do what you want later in life.KEEP YOUR DEBTS IN CHECK!!!!!!!!!

"…bought a cheap $800 riding mower in 4th grade…" Where tf do you get that kind of money at that age?? But ya know what’s more important is that he did something with it and made that investment increase…which was probably due to him be raised right. Good on him and good on his family. I wish everybody in this world had that kind if life. Sad thing is, so many people are crushed before they get a chance to get anywhere. Then they get crushed over and over. The mental anguish is what truly cripples people. I hope he uses his position to help others see value in themselves.

  33. Master on April 3, 2021 at 12:00 am

  34. Patrick Guzman on April 3, 2021 at 12:02 am

I’m sure if you’re a cute 4th grader. You get though sympathy jobs, like doing grandmas lawn.

Not as an adult for strangers though.
It’s a jungle in the adult world!

Getting all that experience while your cute and young while your also gaining your repeat customers.

    Yeah no silver spoon here.

Man, when my brother and I started our "yard work" business at 12 and 13 years old, we thought that $300-$500 or so per year was awesome money. We were rolling in the dough at $3 an hour for a couple of years there!

  41. Harrison O’Shea on April 3, 2021 at 12:08 am

So cool!! Me and my friend started a landscaping business at 10 and saved for equipment. Now I am 13 my friend is 15 and made $15,000 a year each. We do Pine straw, hedge trimming, and we are CLIPA certified Christmas light installers.

  42. GEORGE SEYMOUR on April 3, 2021 at 12:10 am
