Allotment Diary : The Best Gardening Tool Ever !!

Allotment Diary : The Best Gardening Tool Ever !!
Just got this today and tested it out and it is fantastic to use.

Much better for weeding than a traditional Dutch Hoe as it works backwards and forewards.
Popular in the USA but a bit scarce in the UK this Oscillating Hoe is brilliant at removing the weeds

Be better if you showed it working with big weeds- these would cut with a blunt knife.

  8. grumpy poo on April 6, 2021 at 11:33 pm

No nettles for you next year….

  9. Teresa McCoy on April 6, 2021 at 11:33 pm

I need one of these. Thanks, Dan!

  10. Teddy Burr on April 6, 2021 at 11:33 pm

Doesnโ€™t this just chop the heads off weeds, but leave the root, so the weed will grow quickly again? I use the Grumpy Gardener Cultivate Weeder……no long handle, but gets weeds out super fast….AND the root too!!

  11. Aaron on April 6, 2021 at 11:34 pm

Thanks for that Iโ€™m getting one. Itโ€™s been 23 years since I owned a motorbike, but can still recognise the sound of a 4 across the frame sports bike.

  27. dean mitchell on April 6, 2021 at 11:56 pm

  28. Richard Stricklin on April 6, 2021 at 11:58 pm

I watched your video on growing carrots they were absolutely incredible was wondering where you get and what variety your carrots are

  29. Essem Sween on April 6, 2021 at 11:59 pm

Don’t the roots just keep producing though? And would it be any good for weeds in block paving or would it just damage the block paviers? Thank you.

  30. Barry Taylor on April 6, 2021 at 11:59 pm

  36. Vicki Olson on April 7, 2021 at 12:02 am

In the US we call that a scuffle hoe. It is one of my favorites also, at least it was until I started using the Garden of Eden method.

  40. Teddy Burr on April 7, 2021 at 12:07 am

You did not say where you can buy one of these, same as yours??

  41. Marie Currie on April 7, 2021 at 12:10 am

We have a fixed head stirrup hoe at our Community Garden. Best investment ever. Clears pathways and is very effective in active beds due to its compact size.

  42. The Enduring Gardener on April 7, 2021 at 12:11 am

  45. mikeross4 on April 7, 2021 at 12:14 am

It looks good but I wonder how long it would continue to stay sharp when used on my soil which is heavy Chilterns clay with enough flint for Stone Age man to kill every mammoth in England!

  46. Nature-Boy on April 7, 2021 at 12:16 am

Loving the gardening and the potting videos! Cheers from Toronto Canada.
