Thank you for this. It somehow feels like it’s both too early and too late to start planting. And I guess it is, depending on the plant and zone.

Iยดm confused… I am in zone 7b – for sure, but my last frost day is around middle of May :/ So, I should check the zone 6 video? ๐Ÿ™‚ What I mean is, that the zones are not so immportant as the last frost day for starting seed ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway, thank you for the video ๐Ÿ™‚

My backyard isn’t great for direct sowing. I haven’t started any seeds yet but am eager to. Do you know if it’s too late to get started on anything, even if they’re in their own pots and not directly in the ground? I live in zone 7.

Edited to say thanks for the video and help!!

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’re doing that fake spring. We’re looking forward to a couple of days in the 70’s! But here’s what typically happens…come April, it’s entirely possible to get a last hard frost or even snow! I’ve seen snow as late as April 15th! I plant cautiously until after the April 15th. And don’t get me started on the torrential downpours that we’ve been having!

I live in Zone 7a, northeastern NJ, and I’ve always heard a rule of thumb is to plant potatoes on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s apparently the traditional growing season in Ireland, but is supposedly also applicable to most zones in the U.S. too. I grow mine in buckets, so I chit them and get the small plants going early, but by the middle of March they’re ready to be planted in the buckets. However, I do watch the weather for any potential frost and if any plants have sprouted above the soil will cover them with fleece. Thanks for a great series. I’m furiously jotting down the list as you go along. Cheers!
