Building A Raised Bed Garden – Family Plot

Family Plot producer Peter Richards talks to Chris about how he built the raised beds in the Family Plot garden using landscape timbers. These structures can last several years with the proper setup and care. You don’t need a whole crew or a mountain of muscle to build these for yourself if you have the time. Raised beds let you work your garden without bending over or having to deal with the native soil.

I am tired of my timbers rotting, so I am switching over to cinder blocks. I can’t afford them all at once so I am buying a few of them every month.

Cost of supplies to build? Would cinder blocks or planks be less expensive?
