  3. B E on April 19, 2021 at 11:55 pm

My favorite tool is the folding corrugated plastic that holds open the Kraft paper bags for yard waste. Not a tool that everyone would think about, but it makes my spring pruning and fall clean up so much easier, with less irritation from the bags. On my recommendation two of my neighbors bought one also. Love, love, love it.
Keep warm – I’m in IL, so I know the cold pain. πŸ™‚

  13. pattihabby on April 20, 2021 at 12:12 am

Hi Luke ! I just bought the Carrot Circle Hoe that you showed on this video ! Looks like a great tool to have ! It arrived today, from Amazon, and the black coating is all chipped…Was yours chipped ? I am returning it and ordered a replacement ! I hope the second one comes in better condition ! Is this the one you bought ? Carrot Design Circular Hoe Hand Garden Weeding Tool…I didn’t see it on your website under tools !

  14. Song Says on April 20, 2021 at 12:13 am

This might sound dumb to a lot of experienced gardeners, but your show helps so many newcomers that it’d be nice to see how to utilize the tools. A lot of people are self-taught with no experience gardening friends or family to ask that they’d find something like that useful.

  15. Sandy P on April 20, 2021 at 12:15 am

I own and love that hand trowel. And, yeah, it follows me around my little yard for many tasks.

  16. irunamuk on April 20, 2021 at 12:19 am

  26. Darrell Pidgeon on April 20, 2021 at 12:28 am

That pole pruner is nice. I prefer the razor tooth blade, but that is here in Florida. I used it mostly to quickly prune palm trees. One good yank on the saw felled the huge leaf like butter. I never used the pulley part, as it always found a way to jam up from the plant fibers.

  27. Edward Atkinson on April 20, 2021 at 12:29 am

I like that it has a pole pruner built in, but I like to have razors on the top and bottom of the blade of my pole saw for finishing cuts

  28. Deborah Tofflemire on April 20, 2021 at 12:32 am

Should we trim a maple tree.? IWe have a crimson red maple .we want it to grow big.for shade. Just wandering do we need to trim it?

  29. Judith Mingram on April 20, 2021 at 12:33 am

Have you done a video on sharpening tools? I would love to learn that. Also, in your last tool video you used a trowel with a handle bent up at a 45 degree angle. You used it backwards. If you tip the blade into the soil using the bent handle backwards and pull towards you, you can quickly make a hole for a 3" transplant. I’ve seen landscapers do that and plant 3" plants really fast. Just FYI.

  30. goodtimecharlie on April 20, 2021 at 12:36 am

    15 degrees is not bad

  31. Jean Nine on April 20, 2021 at 12:36 am

Thank you for teaching us about the carrot weeder! Yes a video on sharpening tools would be good. When visiting my Mom I noticed a post digging shovel in her yard and used it to dig a hole to transplant a small bush. I really liked how easily it made a pot sized hole and hope to get one some day. I have a narrow trowel that I love to use, it goes into the soul easier than a wider trowel. I also have a small herb trimmer, that I bought at the dollar store, that I keep on me for when I pick beans or peas, or need to trim back things. I have a small branch cutter that I keep on hand also.

  32. Denise Brady on April 20, 2021 at 12:37 am

Yes most definitely a tool sharpening video would be great as it is hard to know how to grease / store & sharpen tools. Get in out of the cold- it is currently 102F here in Brisbane Australia & we are swimming. Cheers Denise – Australia

  33. sue Vriesman on April 20, 2021 at 12:37 am

  34. Debra Jensen on April 20, 2021 at 12:37 am

Everyone wants a sharpening segment and I’m just wondering why I don’t see his breath if it’s so cold. Heck, at 40 degrees I can see my breath here in California..

I suggest upgrading to the Barebones Hori Hori with the pummel. I was able to chop down a small tree with the Hori Hori I’ve been working on really testing the durability of the Hori Hori.

  50. Erica Robbin on April 20, 2021 at 12:52 am

I’d like to see a full tool collection and sharpening video. Can you also make a video about different kinds of fruit picking tools, both commercial and ones you can make homemade to pick tree hanging fruits?
