Every parent should plant a tree, bush or garden with their child.
It will help connect the child to nature and they can watch it grow as they grow.
Leave some natural areas around the edges of your property. The bees, birds and other creatures will thank you.

Avocado is easy to grow but is bugs favorite. How about native fruit trees as well to double duty helping the ecosystem? Pawpaw can grow in shade, also blackberries, blueberries, pecans, etc.
