The Mysteries of Indoor Plant Lighting | Houseplant Lighting Tour

Thank you Angie2.0 for requesting this video! In this video, I am trying to show real life settings that illustrate various lighting setups for indoor plants…not such an easy task as there are many factors that determine how much light enters an interior space.

I will walk you through my home, showing you how each space has different levels of light, while showing you the plants I have chosen to live there.

Thank you all so much for hanging in with me and subscribing! And if you are interested please visit https://planterina.com to shop our indoor plant collections, shipped fast & free direct from the greenhouse.

these "dark corners" look like my brightest spaces in my apartment (facing south with balcony) lol

  3. LizQuincy on June 24, 2021 at 1:41 am

Your style is so amazing–plant and non-plant! I always love seeing your home. I also really respect how "finished" your plants always look. I feel like many of mine are always in between the right cache-pots or waiting to be hung or just sitting on the floor.

  11. Beatriz Yamaguti on June 24, 2021 at 1:56 am

The darkest spot of your living room is basically my whole house :((((((((( My bedroom is super dark, the only place I can put plants is by the window, witch is taken by my bed (and I can’t change it, so I’ll get a shelf) and the bedrooms that have sun are the ones that take the DEEP FRYING 13h-14h SUN and it’s just too hot (also, they’re my family’s, so I can’t just put plants there) :((((((( I need a new house hahaha

If you can read a book in that corner with that lighting, then a low light plant can survive in there !

  32. Daniel Brinlee on June 24, 2021 at 2:17 am

How often would you say you check all your plants? Seems like you have thousands. Weekly, more often, less often, depends on each plant assuming.

  41. Edina Cole on June 24, 2021 at 2:29 am

If you have a room upstairs that’s always warm and sometimes hot, what kind of plants will survive?

  42. Eliza Anam on June 24, 2021 at 2:29 am

I have never been good at growing plants. The only plant I had was a lonely string on golden pothos. Here in Sweden there is a tradition of giving potted plants. I got plenty and those survived only if I had given them away. Then I watched you propagating pothos, chopped up my lonely pathetic string, got two bushy pothos. Then I bought some plants and they are feeling ok. It feels so good not to be a plant-killer anymore.
