TRANSFORMING OUR FRONT YARD! Cottage garden style border!

TRANSFORMING OUR FRONT YARD! Cottage garden style border!

During the quarantine in April-may 2020, we were getting bored at home. So we decided to improve our front yard. It took couple of months to grow, but we are happy with the results 😊.

Loved the look of ur beautiful garden. A feast for the eyes. If you don’t mind can you tell what those plants are… A newbie gardener from Chicago. I am going to try this spring. I have some ideas on Shasta Daisy, Lupines, Zinnia, Dianthus. Peony Marigolds, Sunflowers, Coneflower and some roses. UR fence idea looks great and simple. Subbed.

You should have used compost and not topped it with that orange soil you dug out

So nice! I’m sure it’s filled in even more by now. We’re putting in a cottage garden (from seed — yikes!) in our front flower bed this year. We’re planning to eventually convert the entire front yard to native California / desert Southwest (I’m in central California), so this is my one shot to do this!

OK great job and well done you’ll have to divide those perennials within 2 to 3 years so find equal area with sunlight and good drainage so that you may continue on with another garden space on your property!! You definitely accomplish your cottage garden Wish!! Love it – keep gardening 🌷🌼🌿🌻🌺🏡🌳

You may notice I am wearing mask while working in the garden, it’s because I have a sevier pollen allergy and at the beginning of April when we were building this garden the pollen count was super high. So even if no one is around or even if covid19 virus never existed, I still would have wore a mask during the pollen season πŸ€§πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š. Thank you for your concern ❀ 😊 😘 ☺

Empty spaces? Yah I like to say "but I can still see dirt!"

  34. Fran Looving on June 25, 2021 at 2:24 am

Nice music. I only use organic soil when buying potting soil and I only buy plants WITHOUT neonicatanoids in their growing which means only 2 plant shops in my town of 1 million people, but it is important to me to be safe to the bees! Very fun to see how sandy-like your soil was at the beginning. Cute garden.
