Black and Decker Hedge Trimmer Review

Black and Decker Hedge Trimmer Review

Black and Decker 40v Battery Hedge Trimmer Review. We bought this hedge trimmer on Amazon to combat our overgrown trees and bushes. It’s battery powered so supposedly not as strong as a gas one and it’s Black and Decker which is a cheaper brand. So I wasn’t expecting too much out of it but boy did it prove me wrong! This thing is AWESOME! That’s what I think for now anyway. I guess time will tell how durable it is. It cuts small branches like butter, with just one swing. Whenever possible I will definitely be using this Black and Decker Hedge trimmer instead of my Husqvarna chainsaw. It’s extremely light too! Overall, very satisfied, highly recommended.

I would of invested in a chainsaw with multiple bars and blades. it does the job faster and you can cut down the trees you got.

  2. neozero11 on June 30, 2021 at 1:43 am

how about 2 years after you use it, still hold up good. Is it easy to disassemble it to sharp the blade? Looking forward to hear from you.

Just an update a year later 🙂 Still using this little beast and it’s still working great!! Just used it for a couple of hours yesterday and battery lasted the whole time. My arms are really sore today. This is a light-weight trimmer too, I think my arms would fall off if it was heavier lol.

I assume it is a lithium ion battery. Information is at best confusing. Typically is says how many recharge cycles the battery is good for. First of all, no one can or will count them. The reality unlike nicads you will get more life if you do not run the battery all the way down. The voltage is achieved by strapping cells together. One cell will be weaker than the rest. If, you run it all the way down, the stronger cells will reverse the polarity of the weakest cell and essentially kill the battery. Do not run it all the way down and charge it before storing it. Also, if you are not using it, charge it every month or two.

  20. rkirmizi on June 30, 2021 at 2:01 am

Is it the real noise the tool makes or is that reduced for the video? I want to buy one of these just because of the noise the gas-powered one makes.

If you are trying to reduce the size significantly, is it best to do a certain amount at a time?🤔 Thanks, got the plug-in type, but 22" blade

  41. Marcelo Endler Da Silva on June 30, 2021 at 2:28 am

Great vid. thanks! do you think this trimmer can cut 2 or 3 inch branches?

  42. pawankshrestha on June 30, 2021 at 2:35 am

Do i need to push hard to latch on the battery? Bought a brand new from amazon. Charged the battery whole night. When pushed, all three green leds on the battery light up. The trimmer wont start. I am doubting that the battery is not properly latched. I hear a click when I latch the battery but no luck. How hard do I need to push the battery. Any suggetions.
