WORTH IT?? Unsponsored review of the EGO POWER+ 56v MOWER, TRIMMER & BLOWER

In this video, I take a look at the pros & cons of the EGO Power+ 56v Lawn Tools ‘ecosystem’, covering the Mower, the String Trimmer and the 530 CFM Blower.

I think you might be better off buying these from Home Depot if you have one near you, but here are some Amazon links if you want to check out the specs:

Hi, you review was very good and extensive. When you tell about pricing it would be good if you could put it on text on the left hand corner. Well done

  2. Jacob Wade on August 8, 2021 at 9:27 pm

Very good review!! I have the same trimmer and blower but have the select cut mower with the 7.5ah battery. So far everything is working fantastically!!

  3. geno816 on August 8, 2021 at 9:27 pm

I just got the blower too. The 650. Ego is great. I’m a fan boy now

  4. T M on August 8, 2021 at 9:27 pm

    Well done sir!

  5. Brian Banks on August 8, 2021 at 9:28 pm

i got the trimmer first…liked it so much ended up drinking the 5 gallon container of koolaid…..got the mower, blower, chainsaw, snowblower and I have never looked back one bit….these machines are beasts

  6. Rob H on August 8, 2021 at 9:28 pm

Missing grass like that is unacceptable. I’ve never had a mower do that except for an unsharp blade. I wonder if the Select Cut works better, as you mentioned.

  7. Clearanceman2 on August 8, 2021 at 9:29 pm

I think the new harbor freight 80 volt tools probably have more promise but I’m keeping my gas mower for now and I did switch to craftsman 60V string trimmer.

  8. pdxeddie1111 on August 8, 2021 at 9:29 pm

one of my batteries went kaput in about three years though and they are expensive to replace so factor in costs gas powered is way cheaper just saying but I’ll say the benefits is you dont have worry about getting 2stroke motors running and they are quieter by significant amounts which is nice

  9. Jean S on August 8, 2021 at 9:31 pm

About the trimmer…Can someone use generic replacement line? I assume the only plus the EGO
brand line is being pre-cut to maximum line lenght the auto spooler
will take. If nothing special about EGO line, one could buy generic line
and precut to the lenght needed. What is your observation on that?

  10. Zachary Zink on August 8, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Got this same setup.. it’s awesome.. amazing how much easier yard work is with electric tools.

  11. Moshenokoji on August 8, 2021 at 9:31 pm

I drank the kool-aid. Picked up the carbon shaft weed eater, the 615cfm blower, and the hedge trimmer…Now I want the select cut mower with that 10 amp hour battery.. lol

  12. geno816 on August 8, 2021 at 9:35 pm

I just bought the select cut xp myself. So powerful

  13. Stephanie on August 8, 2021 at 9:36 pm

Just bought the mower. Not self propelled. Can’t wait to use it. Now I think so want to replace my corded blower for an Ego one. So much easier to walk around and get stuff done.

  14. C B on August 8, 2021 at 9:36 pm

I’ve enjoyed my ego products. I use the mower, blower and trimmer and they all work great. I just like the minimal upkeep

  15. Philis Bramlett on August 8, 2021 at 9:37 pm

I was wondering . Have you heard anything about servicing the Ego mower and accessories. No one so far has had a positive review on this subject. I am still purchasing one . Just a thought I wsnted to put out there for you ?

  16. Chris James on August 8, 2021 at 9:38 pm

I bought the range of ego garden tools largely because I was sold on the environmental advantages, including the noise benefits that a battery operated tool has over petrol tools.
I have had a number of breakdowns with these tools already after 3 months of use. The repairs have been tediously slow. I’ve had to get a replacement hedger from the store because the parts were held up in China with COVID. I’m going back to the petrol equipment. More reliable, more repairers should you need them fixed and easy to get spare parts. I would not waste your money on switching over to this equipment

  17. Marquis de Saniette on August 8, 2021 at 9:39 pm

Really appreciate your experience behind this review. It helped me take the leap, given that the big box hardware stores are fully on board with electric in 2021. Got the trimmer and blower because, despite being a Stihl fanboy, I’m tired of rising fuel costs, yanking to start, and winter storage prep. Thank you, I appreciate it. 💯💯💯

  18. B Blutarsky on August 8, 2021 at 9:40 pm

Really well done. Very comprehensive. The only critique I might have is that it would have been nice to see you actually use the tools. But thank you for the video and have a great day.

  19. PPDX on August 8, 2021 at 9:43 pm

Sincerely THE BEST video on these tools I’ve seen to date. Thank you.

  20. Bart us on August 8, 2021 at 9:45 pm

I’ve been with EGO since 2015. Perfection. Not touching anything else. Still on original 4Ah batteries. 9 tools total.

  21. Stephan Makintaya on August 8, 2021 at 9:48 pm

Thank you for taking the time to make and post the video. Good info… just what I needed to see.

  22. Mason Howard on August 8, 2021 at 9:49 pm

Nice setup I’m working on mine

  23. Luke LeMire on August 8, 2021 at 9:49 pm

Once you try ego you don’t go back to gas. I have the 650 blower and just bought the new 10ah mower. Don’t get much snow where I am but their snow blower is still calling my name LOL

  24. 77magicbus on August 8, 2021 at 9:53 pm

great video. i think you are correct. I am going to take the plunge and by them all.

  25. Benjamin Mendenhall on August 8, 2021 at 9:54 pm

Thanks for shareing and more info how it works

  26. Anthony Andrews on August 8, 2021 at 9:54 pm

I loved my ego till it broke out of warranty. And no one will fix it. My only option is to buy a new mower. Going back to gas.

  27. David Pots on August 8, 2021 at 9:57 pm

I’m pretty sure the carbon fiber has double the battery capacity so it’s kinda worth it sadly they were out of stock at my store

  28. Ian H on August 8, 2021 at 9:57 pm

A milli-amp is a thousandth of an amp.
    1000 milli-amps equals 1 amp.
Your batteries are 7.5 and 2.5 AMP Hour not milli-amp.

  29. crazyflyboy30 on August 8, 2021 at 9:59 pm

I just got the top of the line EGO self- propelled and the back pack blower the lawnmower is AWESOME and the blower is ok not going to sell my 580 Husqvarna blower it’s 5x stronger so I keep it for winter. I been useing a Echo 58v trimmer for about 10 years now it still works perfectly.

  30. JWojo on August 8, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Got the ego select cut 7.5 battery for $237.00 at lowes, was returned the day before used for like 15 min.

  31. Byron Johnson on August 8, 2021 at 10:01 pm

BEWARE. These look good and have excellent reviews. However many Ego items are
unavailable a of 7/29/21 due to supply issues. I ordered one from Ace
hardware in Texas May 2021 and was told 60 days delivery, then August
2021, now the story is "not this season." Called Granger in Arizona and
was told the same–unknown delivery date. I’m using a broken down Echo unit
to get through. Called EGO and got nothing but canned sympathy- "We know about the problem, sorry". Missed
the entire 2021 yard season waiting on this "unicorn". All of these reviews
are 4 mos to 2 years old. Before putting down a deposit, call your distributor and talk to them frankly.

NOTE TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT EGO TOOLS: I purchased the EGO trimmer a year ago. I used it all summer and loved it. I pulled it out of my basement where it was stored during the winter. When I press the power load button nothing happens. I only used the trimmer for one season (Last year) The tool is supposed to have another 4 years warranty. But when you call their support 1-855-346-5656 THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. I’ve been calling for days at different hours and they never answer the phone. Whether you press 0 to leave a message or "1" for them to call you back, NOTHIG WORKS!!! YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN WITH A BROKEN TOOL. A wasted $435.00 (The trimmer, the battery and the charger). If the power load does not work I can not use the tool. If anyone out there is thinking about buying an EGO toll. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS FAR AS YOU CAN!!! DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS.

  33. Kapn Kerf on August 8, 2021 at 10:05 pm

Will the blower give me an edge when I’m using it as a rocket engine for my office chair races?

  34. Greg Egan on August 8, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Any idea which EGO string trimmer is the easiest/best for edging? I don’t want the separate edger attachment.

  35. Ryan Williams on August 8, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Honestly, I was suspicious of just how well any of these Ego yard tools would work. My Father bought the new 0 turn Ego riding mower and weed eater at the end of last grass cutting season as he is older now and doesn’t want to mess with oil changes and the maintenance that goes along with gas powered engines.

He had a surgery a few weeks ago and I told him I’d mow his lawn so I got to actually use the Ego 0 turn and weed eater for the first time Saturday. He has about 1.7 archers of cuttable grass and the 0 turn cut it all and still had 39% of battery life left. AND it was the most comfortable riding lawn mower I have ever been on and I think way more agile and faster than my John Deer 0 turn. The weed eater was amazing too.

    I’m sold.

  36. Redzone 101 on August 8, 2021 at 10:09 pm

    Great review.
I have the Greenworks 60v mower and snowblower, but after seeing the Ego 56v 530 blower, trimmer, battery charger and battery combo set for under $300…

I had to drink the Kool aid also 😂. LOL!

    Now I have two systems.
    No regrets!

    Thanks for the vid.
    Stay safe and healthy.

  37. Dee Ess on August 8, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Anyone know if EGO is going to make a de-thatcher?

  38. quidproquo on August 8, 2021 at 10:09 pm

I got rid of all my gas powered and corded item and went to the EGO system. Couldn’t be happier. Plenty of power. Maintenance is a breeze. For those considering the system, the hedge trimmer works great as well. My next purchase will be the 18" chainsaw..

  39. T Borg on August 8, 2021 at 10:09 pm

I have the same blower and it does not blow my arm back but then again I am a man.

  40. Philis Bramlett on August 8, 2021 at 10:10 pm

P.S. Great Review and Audio . We all appreciate you !

  41. Jason B on August 8, 2021 at 10:10 pm

I use the switch on the front to turn down speed and when im blowing off my edging stone and it does not blow the mulch out of my beds.

  42. René Ramírez on August 8, 2021 at 10:12 pm

Believe me or not. Found the mower for $35 at a state sale here in TX.

  43. E-Nonymouse on August 8, 2021 at 10:13 pm

The aluminum shaft version is what i’ve been punishing for 5 years FWIW, it’s never broken and it takes a long time to run out of string. It’s light enough I don’t even bother with a strap, it is commercial grade even if ego doesn’t say so.

  44. kkarllwt on August 8, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Somewhat off topic. I like how you developed the ‘set’ for this video. Carefully framed with the garage door and brick margins.

  45. S W on August 8, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I just purchased a EGO trimmer and edger combo and am now contemplating replacing all my gas powered tools as well haha. The kool-aid is great!

  46. Tsubasa Rides on August 8, 2021 at 10:19 pm

Dont ever compare Ryobi to EGO. Ryobi is entry level

  47. Ian Pillow on August 8, 2021 at 10:20 pm

The way these systems are set up once you dip your toe into the ecosystem you have to go all in to maximize the battery utility

  48. Bill Jordan on August 8, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Thanks for the review. I currently own a fairly new Honda mower, so may not be replacing that anytime soon, but am in the market for a battery-powered edger. I currently have a battery trimmer and blower from Kobalt, but I’m probably going to go the EGO route on the edger, and gradually change over to all EGO tools. Reason being – you can use the same battery for all of them. I’m guessing an EGO snow blower is also in my future. The Kobalt tools I have are fantastic, but they use a 24v battery, which won’t work on their edger or some of their other tools. Also like that EGO makes an edger that has an interchangeable head, so you can get a number of different tools and take up far less garage space. Time will tell if I’ll have made the right decision.

  49. Randy Martin on August 8, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Haven’t stepped in to the e-Go quite yet although I am planning it. You may notice the electric bike in my picture. Yeah the plan is to replace the gas lawnmower when it has reached it’s end of life with the e-Go mower and then incorporate the benefits of their 56v compatibility to the 48v 750w electric bike. Being able to pull my life off of petrol eventually is my ultimate goal and I see these power tool battery packs as giving an option to replace that trip to filling a gas can.
