Growing Herbs – How to Plant Herbs in a Window Box

Planting and growing herbs in your home could never be easier even if you don’t have a garden or outdoor space. You can plant and grow your favorite herbs such as rosemary, thyme, mint, basil, coriander, oregano and sage right on your window sill and our horticulturalist is in studio to demonstrate how.

Our horticulturalist has worked in gardens all over Ireland and her family are makers of the award winning Folláin Preserves. A 100-year old recipe, passed on through several generations, was the secret of Folláin’s first product, a chunky grapefruit marmalade. Building on this modest beginning, preparing the fruit and cooking in kitchen-style conditions, has grown steadily, increasing its range of preserves and expanding to what is now a modern food factory, built and fully equipped to the highest standards.

Gin Sling, you’re right.. it’s probably not best to group them together. However if you try and group the sun lovers and the more shade tolerant together it should work eg. Chives/parsley/mint/oregano/thyme are more shade tolerant than basil, rosemary.

I agree. Fresh based herbs that you grow yourself are much tastier and satisfying.
    Really good video.
I’d almost watch it again now. Great tips.
