All you need to do this "super simple DIY project" is a mitre saw and a drill… and 17 other tools.

  2. Anthony Pearce on November 3, 2021 at 10:49 am

Quick question about the steel, as my desire would be to have the boxes a little higher due to my bad back. Would the same steel, but perhaps 2′ longer still be strong enough if everything else was the same, or would they buckle?

  3. Fernando Arce on November 3, 2021 at 10:49 am

Very nice job and the instructions are great. ๐Ÿ‘.

  4. Phenom Menon on November 3, 2021 at 10:50 am

Don’t say you can build it with a mitre saw and a drill then use all the other tools you used. Just shows that you’re just looking for views, not to help anyone.

    >intentionally adding gaps between your boards
Only reason I ever have gaps in-between my boards is because I use rough palette wood I try to have no gaps.

Very nice!! now I’ll go to look for videos that show me how to DIY a nice wood planter that does not need so much sophisticated tools.

    Absolutely beautiful!
Im trying to make this but on a much smaller scale for home decor on a floating shelf that I have beneath my television.

  13. Greg C on November 3, 2021 at 10:59 am

This was useful, will probably buy your plans. Now how can I get your mom to come over and fill the boxes with plants?

  14. Hassan Kamal on November 3, 2021 at 11:00 am

Maybe I missed it, but if these are going to be exposed to the elements outdoors, shouldn’t that wood be treated?
I learnt the hard way with my first planter that not applying multiple coats of oil-based stain = rotten wood and a new planter within a few years.

    At around 7:05 he mentions another video. Here is a link to that video which provides simpler construction imo;

You might could save a couple of steps (and cost) with a different drainage system.

  40. Kushal HN on November 3, 2021 at 11:24 am

HMM . AFTER USING SO MUCH WOOD AND SO MUCH SKILL U USE PLASTIC IN THE LAST. WHY DO FOOLISH STUNTS LIKE THESE. MAKE A PLASTIC PANELS OF GOOD GRADE ABS AND OF GOOD THICKNESS AND STICK A LAMINATE/VEENER AND GIVE IT WOODEN PLANTER LOOK. GO ALL OUT ON NOT ECO FRIENDLY !!!!!! DONT DO HYPOCRTICAL JOBS LIKE THIS. APPEARS ECO FRIENDLY ON OUTSIDE BUT PIECE OF SHIT IN THE INSIDE .

  41. Kirti Singh on November 3, 2021 at 11:25 am
