DIY water feature/fountain using a Solar powered pump

DIY water feature/fountain using a Solar powered pump

I put together this solar powered water feature fountain for my garden using cheap items from stores like B&M and poundland. Cost me about Β£34 for something that would be a lot more expensive if bought ready made. I mention where all the supplies are from on the video. If I were to make it again I’d maybe consider spending more on a pump that has battery back-up to store the solar energy for use at night, but for my purposes this pump is adequate.

Turned out very pretty. I must say u had me a bit worried when I seen the tape and chicken wire. I said to myself that the hell? But oh once the slate is in place and balls it is quite impressive!

Sorry for the stupid question, but where exactly did you put the water? I’m assuming it’s only in tbe tray where the pump is attached. Ambi right? Many thanks.

Do you remember who you bought this from on Amazon? I bought one recent from someone on ebay, exactly the same as yours only the solar panel was about half the size of yours. I set it all up and put it in direct sun and nothing happened. I then left it in the sun for a whole day and still nothing happened. I noticed in your video, you said you put your panel in the sun to charge…do you have to do this for a while before these things will start? That’s what I wondered, which is why I left it all set up and in the sun for a day, and still nothing happened. I don’t know what I did wrong!

  32. joanne smith on December 1, 2021 at 1:26 pm

if you have a skewer , heat it up maybe on your cooker and make the holes in the top bit slightly bigger then the spray wont go all over the path m or you will end up with an empty pot and the motor will run dry , hope this helps
