"Bell Mexican" = Mexican silver jewelry made circa 1948-1978. The numbers inside the "bell", really an eagle, tell you where it came from. 1 = Mexico City, 3= Taxco and others… I’m no expert on Mexican jewelry, but I can get you that far. A 16 is Margot de Taxco; some makers had their own numbers. I was out on Thursday picking up something from the pharmacy and stopped at a junk pile (nothing I was willing to risk exposure for) on my way home … the urge to find stuff is still strong!

I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying your gardening project! Could you discuss the way that you have set up your garden in a future episode? Perhaps I have mentioned before that I grew up with huge gardens every year. We canned, froze and ‘put up’ so much food every year plus of course had amazing fresh food every summer and into the fall. Dad used a tiller and tilled up the entire 3/4 acres and then we planted. Could you discuss the benefits and reasoning for doing the strips? I have never seen it done like that before. There are some obvious benefits, but I would love to hear you talk about it. Thanks so very much and stay safe. Best to you, Lindey and the kids!

We got our Dogwood winter here in Northeast TN too.

The flint arrow heads are ceremonial pieces. I catalogued a laurel leaf blade just like yours in Tikal, Guatemala when Bill was digging there. Very hard to get them that thin without breaking them. Shame their true provenance is lost, though. Very interexting!

Dave you are one of the luckiest guys when it comes to scoring free stuff on the side of the road. I’m sure you have a ring mandrel in your jewelry work bench. Maybe you can show Gabi how to use it to fix the bent ring shanks. I’m sure she will have fun. I love the poison ring. I went to your Facebook page and left you a message.

  22. The Cat Lady on December 5, 2021 at 12:59 pm

Dave, I would love to buy the poison ring from you but it looked smaller than an 8 which is what I wear.

    Beautiful rings

  30. Lane Lakey on December 5, 2021 at 1:15 pm

Thin down the linseed oil with turpentine, it gets too gummy and tacky if you don’t. Multiple coats after that. The points are gray ghosts, they’ve made reproductions of larger points since 1890s. Look up Tussinger Points as just an example of early repos.

Amazing stuff!!! Those rings must be part of your retirement plan!! LOL they are awesome. I follow a lady in California on YouTube (Karen Leabo) that get quite a bit of native American jewelry and she’s able to tell which tribe. She sells them on etsy. You’re holding onto some pretty good money in those rings. BTW, it was nice to see your girl again!!! TFS

OMG Dave, you have Giants weapons and tools there. I am friends with a facebook Page that has all the old stories about the Mounds. It’s incredible to see these, everything was hidden away by the likes of the Smithsonian. I am just reading a 1975 book about Megalithic remnants of ancient civilizations. I’ve always been fascinated by Giant legends. WOW! There was a riverbank that got washed out in Australia and huge stone tools were found, and then were denied and you never hear of them again. Able Tasman was discovering New Zealand looking for a place to land, so was quite close in on his ship and they saw several gigantic people brandishing huge sticks or clubs, they didnt land at all, headed off for Australia after that. There is one picture a crew member drew, I have seen it in a book years ago and can’t find the book or the image anywhere now. There are massive old stone tools found occasionally, the Denisovians were huge people, we have their genes, they hooked up with Neanderthals and they think the Neanderthals passed that onto us, they know there is a fourth lot whose genes we have too. People just have to expand their thinking, we have discovered so much with science and archaeology. I can’t figure why people feel so threatened by giant people, well except for the obvious, fairytales and maybe they were scary, but the Bible has heaps of them who were chill or fought for your side etc.

Dave I wish that I could give you a better opinion of your Indian Relics. They are without a doubt fake. Sometimes longer is not better. If you would take them to show a knowledgeable collector he could explain in detail. That being said your knowledge of so many subjects is really amazing. Keep the videos coming and I’ll continue to watch. You and your family stay safe.

Sweet collection of rings. Those spearheads are really great, too.
Your redwood table looks beautiful now, but I did have to laugh at you when you couldnโ€™t open the โ€˜childproofโ€™ cap

  49. Mark Tocholke on December 5, 2021 at 1:38 pm

Dang Dave, I really like the flint collection. If authentic (which is most likely considering the story), could you imagine the past involved with those pieces? I love history!
