I live in SW FLORIDA. Love your videos. I have trouble keeping plants alive in this heat. What the nurseries say FULL SUN doesn’t always work in this intense heat. Any suggestions?? Also, what’s the best potting soil for container planting?

It’s fun to see this space before the chicken 🐓coop. Dexter is not as much of her camera hog as Russell. 😆

  10. Melanie Riley on December 8, 2021 at 1:24 pm

What about turning that little cool shed into a club house for Benjamin. You could still do some plants and maybe a water feature. I just had two boys and growing up they had some much fun in a club house out in the far back yard.

We have any hills in southern Missouri for first time in five or more years, also. Also dandelions extremely heavy in Every yard regardless of care of owner.

  33. Vom on December 8, 2021 at 1:44 pm

There must be a drainage hole at the bottom of the patio container, as you put soil directly into it. Do you put something underneath the container to protect the patio from water?

  34. Kelly Jack on December 8, 2021 at 1:46 pm

@Garden Answers Wouldn’t your chickens make quick work of those ants?

  35. Nola Girl on December 8, 2021 at 1:47 pm

Dexter?! I didn’t even know there was a Dexter! I thought there was just Cheddar and Russell! Is there any more cats you’re hiding from us?!😂😂

I love all your videos so much and everything is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Do you guys have mosquitoes? Any ideas to get rid of them? I love gardening too but I cant even stay outside more than a few minutes before they bite..

  41. sad cube on December 8, 2021 at 1:58 pm

If it were me I would turn it into an adorable space for my kids. You could create for him his own tool shed or you could make it a cool fort. I have boys who love playing in play houses.

  42. Dorene Nagy on December 8, 2021 at 1:58 pm

Beautiful. Have you ever heard of cutting up sponges and mixiing with your dirt in the window boxes. It has helped me a great deal with my window box that is in the direct sun.

  43. Janice Woods on December 8, 2021 at 1:59 pm

The easiest way to get rid of ants is to mix a couple gallons of water with a cup of the cheapest dish washing soap and pour that down the ant mounds. Repeat in about a week and ants are gone. If you continue t see ants then repeat another time. I deal with fire ants and their Hugh mounds. It works for me every time.

  44. Atef Basha on December 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm

About the toller ,smaller the light for all that

  45. MsKimSoprano on December 8, 2021 at 2:05 pm

How does your grass do in the heat of summer? Everyone here in the south plants bermuda grass, because it stays green in the heat, but it’s a scourge to gardeners, because it has runners that get into Everything!! It’s horrible!!

  46. Connie Murphy on December 8, 2021 at 2:06 pm
