How many minks do you have to squeeze to get 12 oz of mink oil

  3. steve s on January 1, 2022 at 3:07 pm

Agree on most fronts here but for locks graphite is a MESS! Tri-Flow TF20006 Superior Lubricant is a way better solution for locks!

  4. Eric Barbieri on January 1, 2022 at 3:08 pm

Just wondering… Do you have any studies or tests that confirm WD-40 is bad for long-term use on leather? Or how about any of the other claims that you make? Just curious. Easy to say these things, harder to test and prove them.

  5. Robert Jackson on January 1, 2022 at 3:09 pm

I had heard it was Water Dispersant and the Formula #40 was the correct mix they settled on. Fish oil at the proper ratio with other components was the main ingredient.

  6. E D on January 1, 2022 at 3:12 pm

I used to mountain bike and motorcycle in mud and sand three times a week, and WD-40 used on the chain morning and night outperformed chain lube 2x.
Willingness to soak it twice a day is better than gold plated chain lube that you rub off in the first muddy rut.
Not good on street bikes! Buy the expensive chain lube for those.

  7. BIGBEN 505 on January 1, 2022 at 3:14 pm

I heard back in the day the main ingredient in WD-40 was fish oil. Not something I wanna put on the things I use to make a living.

  13. Issa Nesheiwat on January 1, 2022 at 3:17 pm

Wd-40 works great on motherboards by the way. Ive used it to weatherproof some of my old motherboards and it works fine. I still wouldnt use it on an iphone though

I worked in the office equipment industry for 40 years and used it almost exclusively as a rubber reconditioned, why, it cleaned toner and paper dust from feed, transport and registration rollers as well as making them grippy. Most of these rollers are considered consumable items and get replace periodically. I always use it on my grills surfaces as well for what it was designed, a moisture dispersant. Good info though.

  20. Hollywood Hand on January 1, 2022 at 3:20 pm

  21. Bike & Outdoor Germany on January 1, 2022 at 3:22 pm

oh, you didn’t know that the WD-40 is not a lubricant but a cleaning agent?

  22. Eric Villano on January 1, 2022 at 3:23 pm

Tried them all over many years.- WD-40, PB Blaster, CRC, etc. The one that always worked best for me to break loose a rusty bolt was Liquid Wrench.

  23. GNK on January 1, 2022 at 3:29 pm

You know, incase of emergency you can start a fire by spraying it on a piece of paper or wood as a starter. You’ve to let it burn out if you’re planning to cook on the fire! Or just pull that piece out the one you sprayed on.

  24. tiredrummertube on January 1, 2022 at 3:29 pm

One of the worst things about it, it freezes in the cold just like water

  26. draco4444 on January 1, 2022 at 3:35 pm

It’s also great to get heavy grease off your hands and some surfaces, just remember to wash it off your hands once the grease is gone.

  27. Alasdair Spitzer on January 1, 2022 at 3:35 pm

Ya know… I’ve been on bike forums and I’ve talked about "SILICONE" WD-40 brand for bike derailleurs and everyone "corrected" me about (about the actual OG product) that this was dumb. Which if I had said the og would be understandable, but I said WD-40 BRANDED "SILICONE" lube. But trolls never listen let alone try to understand lol

  33. Mark Wolf on January 1, 2022 at 3:45 pm

Love watching vids of people calling it a lubricant only to spray a bolt then sit and blowtorch the bolt loose wasting time and money. Wd40 is old product that isn’t worth its price.why dont the just light money on fire lol

  34. NETWT on January 1, 2022 at 3:46 pm

WD 40 can freeze! So not to be used to free up locks in the cold… it is a warm temp lube. It will freeze up your locks in the winter.

    Thank you for this Video.
I’m kinda Old and back when I was a “Snott-nose” the Old-timers explained all of this to me.
Now that I try to explain the difference between a “Penetrating Oil” and a “Lubricant” I get a lot of Blank Stares.
I’ll start showing and Sharing this Video when it happens, maybe coming from a Cartoon Bear it will sink in.

I would have to disagree with you on bike chains, of motorbike chain lubes for my dirt bike, it has so far been the best for preventing rust and too much dirt, but ill try dry teflon
