Tigers never existed in Nigeria. That reptile is neither an iguana or an alligator. What kind of country is Nigeria, Its a monitor lizard. Educate Yourselves.

This is a monitor lizard not an alligator. Why are you so ignorant in Africa?

  3. Zion-pikin on January 15, 2022 at 2:55 pm

Give your life to Christ Jesus and stop with the foolery of revering animals instead of God. If you saving animals do it for extinction prevention issues and not for fear of juju worship.

That is not an alligator but a monitor lizard. There are no tigers in Nigeria even though the guy says they forbid eating it. He must mean leopards or lions.
Well, in a nutshell, the practices of picking different animals community by community is the oldest form of conservation. Even though people come to the continent and purports to teach Africans the art of conservation. The only reason they see animals left to conserve is because we already have conserved them. Animals only started missing by the millions when they arrived with new sensibilities.

  27. Superblack on January 15, 2022 at 3:22 pm

This reporter is a complete fool. He really ought to have done some background research before presenting his report. That’s not an alligator for God’s sake. It’s not an Iguana! It’s a monitor lizard!! There are no tigers in Africa…….. In southern Nigeria the only big cats were leopards! I really am shocked at the abject ignorance of the modern Nigerian concerning wildlife. You don’t see this anywhere else in Africa. The urban African is totally disconnected from his natural environment and in doing so is disconnected from his past. He has lost the true meaning and use of his culture compared to his forefathers yet still doesn’t know he is hopelessly lost!

Every community has an animal or another thing which they revere and all in that community should do the same. In many parts of the globe where dogs or cats are pets animals, no one can ever thing of harming talk less of killing or eating them. That is nature’s way of preserving those animals in those communities.

Preservation whether direct or indirect is in order. Eat more
vegetables and less meat. Meat not really the best for your health.
