HOW I BUILD MY RAISED GARDEN BEDS OUT OF 55 GALLON FOOD GRADE DRUMS!

RAISED GARDEN BED MATERIAL LIST:
55 Gallon Food Grade Drum – QTY: 1
2x4x8 Lumber – QTY: 5 (12 foot lumber may work better if you have the means to transport it. You would have less waste.)
3″ exterior screws – 1 Box
1 3/4″ exterior screws – 1 box

FOR CLEANING:
Hot Water
Dish Soap
Cleaning Brush

Tools:

Reciprocating saw or circular saw
Power Drill and 1/4″ drill bit
Miter saw or Circular Saw
Tape Measure
Various Clamps

How tall should a raised bed be? It’s up to you! Literally…whatever’s best for you. I chose 3 foot.

    I loved the video. I have some suggestions for future barrels.
    1. Flood and drain pipe to keep the holes from getting plugged up by debris and roots.
    2. I don’t know how but something to support the bottom. I just don’t trust the screws as only support.

    If I make a video I will give you credit for getting me started and implement my ideas. I tend to over engineer but that’s because I’m lazy AF and hate cleaning up when things do work exactly how I imagine it should work.

    My husband used 2×2 and it is very sturdy and it cut our cost on materials tremendously. 2×2 was just as heavy as the 2×4 and it worked out great
