#hydroponics
You don’t need a large garden to grow your fresh produce. Nor do you need years of experience to build your own DIY indoor grow system. That is the beauty of hydroponics.
Hydroponic gardening involves growing plants in a water and nutrient solution without using any soil. Hydroponic gardens are easy to start in your own home so you can grow throughout the year.

What other vegetables have you grown and how many tubs of each do you think you will need to feed a family of 4 all year? Good info, I enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing your ideas. I love the low cost. Makes sense to try your idea 1st to see how it all will work.

Mucho mahalo for this wonderful & simple method. You’ve encouraged me to divert from all those costly “systems”. I have tons of seedlings that I now can afford to keep all of them. Mahalo Nui Loa… from Hawaii o/ rejoicing!!!!

Wonderful video, great music. Everything Mixed so the music doesn’t interfere with your informative narration. I had to slog through at least eight other BS DIY hydroponic systems and listen to a bunch of nonsense before I found this. One question though: would it be easier just to put your seed into ottoman or coir and start the whole project from seed? I have really bad arthritis and so it would be very difficult for me to take the time to pull all those plants apart and replant them. Other than that, thank you for a very informative video.

    Kool ideas

  32. Pamela Lee on May 26, 2022 at 9:01 pm

I thought hydroponics required an aeration system in the water to increase oxygen and didn’t use any fillers? If this works for people great though! We all need a little help nowadays.

  33. SJ R on May 26, 2022 at 9:01 pm

Actually more than a dollar way more, the cost of the water container, plastic sheet, fertilizer, etc

  34. Per Shop on May 26, 2022 at 9:02 pm

I like the idea that you are just using seaweed liquid feed. In my mind, I felt like hydroponics liquid feed had to be some fancy stuff and maybe expensive stuff. But 1 gallon or less of concentrated seaweed liquid feed is a reasonable idea to mix in with water and have it last a long time, especially with the idea that you’re just changing out water about every 3-4 weeks.

Wonderful video. Clear and precise. You have made this look so easy, so I am going to give this a try! thank you. Blessings to you🙂

  36. Heidi D on May 26, 2022 at 9:11 pm

Thank you for showing how easy it could be to grow food for oneself. Curious to know, if after you cut all the leaves off, could the stub regrow, or what if you left one leaf on it, would the plant regrow?
P.s. your doggo 🐶 is so cute 🥰

  37. John Spence on May 26, 2022 at 9:12 pm

You don’t need to fill up the bucket over time as much because the roots will reach down and the extra air will prevent root rot and help growth. The air will actually help the growth.

How to plant egg plant this way ???

  42. Dd Dd on May 26, 2022 at 9:17 pm

When you say plastic sheet it looks like a foam coated board is it?

  43. Jane on May 26, 2022 at 9:18 pm

Looks like a winner! I also use food grade hydrogen peroxide at 3% to avoid mold growth. Maybe it’s the colder area I live in but it seems to be a problem for me. H202 sprayed on maybe only once or twice really helps my sprouts too.

  44. Dandavats Dasa on May 26, 2022 at 9:18 pm

    Only seaweed as fertilizer!?

So far this seems deserving organic certification!

It seems that most suburban homes have little facilities for people to grow their own food. Perhaps some can afford grow lights or have some kind of upstairs open air patio.

Thank you for sharing informative videos!

I love the fact that there is a much simpler way of doing hydroponics that doesn’t cost a fortune, especially in a small garden. Thank you.
