Nice build, annoying sound. Can’t call it music.
I have built similar ones, yours look great, but I always line mine with plastic sheeting and put a drain in, add wheels and it is ready. Wheels because they need to move in the winter.
Great video
Looks good brother. Thanx!
Thanks for the inspiration.
I would recommend a 45 mitre for the outer side trim pieces for smoother look
Excellent job 👏 nicely easy
A design that doesn’t use brad nails and glue would be way better for exterior use. Dont bother filling in seams with sawdust either, the wood is gonna move like crazy outside and it will see big temp swing every day and those seems are gonna crack open in no time.
Thanks! I downloaded this plan and the one for the workbench. I also sent you some $ even though they were free. It takes time to make these videos and plans. I’m just starting out making wood projects for my home. So I really appreciate the build plans because it’s hard enough as it is.
I could have enjoyed this much more with out the horrible “masculine” music!
Parabéns meu amigo excelente trabalho 👏👏👏
Such a simple and nice design. You could bang out a bunch of these in short order for family members, friends, or it sell if you wanted.
Nicely done!
The only thing I might change is adding a small chamfer to the side pieces where they come together just to add a small detail.
Thank you for the plans , one of the best woodworking channels on YouTube, what you make is amazing.
This is a beautiful planter, and a great side. I’ll also make a longer one with a tweaking of two panels. Thank you for the plans! I will say this about structural integrity and use… I’ll have to cut the center bottom just a wee bit more narrow for drainage, and I just know the first time someone grabs that top overhang to move it, it’ll come off. Dirt is heavy. Wet dirt, even more so. So I will use stainless screws, countersunk, and fill with sawdust and glue. Again, thank you so much for the plans!
Not bad.
I made several of these for gifts for people, but changed a few things. The top i don’t like the look of miters, so i did a pin wheel top with overlapping 4" planks. They came out great..:)
rub in some olive oil.
I wanna know what size of wood to cut.
I would have left some space between the bottom pieces for drainage and expansion when the wood gets wet. Other than that a nice clean simple build.
I love the design but I think I’m going to lengthen the legs and taper the corners on the bottom.
Overall great idea thank you!
🌹👍🏼
Nice job. Great weekend build.
What kind of transparent protective coating can I apply to preserve the color of cedar?
Superb…
When can we expect a tall tapered cedar planter plans lol. Great job. Just subscribed
Thanks!
Very nice and simple. I’ll try to make it as my next project.
The idea of a cedar box is that cedar naturally weather resistant and rot proof . You did not use cedar for the four 2×2 corners and this will most likely be the down fall of your boxes .
How do I download the plans?
That was more than 3 boards.
It does look v pretty and the vid was well made but it’s not gonna stay looking like that once filled with wet mud and stones and left out in the rain and sun for a month. The boards need space and design changes to allow them to move. And the top will pop off if picked up. Ideally the strength should be in the design not the glue. You should do a version 2.0.
Great video. Thanks for the plans. You got a sub and a like outta me 👍
Inexpensive he said! I had to sell a kidney for it to buy the material for 4 planter boxes.
Thanks man
I build these things from great – FREE – plans and think, I’d pay a few bucks. Anyway, thanks for the plans and the instruction
Great video content, thank you for sharing and providing the plans!
Awesome dude! 🙌🏼
Nice box, costs @ $35 to build. Much cheaper than what they want for a store bought one at Lowe’s/Home Depot.
Thanks!
It is going to move and crack a bit especially in the cross grain areas that are glued. For this outside application I would think the weathering and cracking will just give it a rustic look and be OK. I wouldn’t bother filling them cracks with sawdust as they will spread wide open soon outside…. Nice and simple build though….
When you narrate over the video with that music, you remind me of a Burnout game. Subscribed! Great video.
If I want to use screws instead of brad nails, how short should they be?
Good job. Thank you.
Nice simple build. Is your tablesaw a Ryobi BT3000/3100? You don’t see those very often. Been using mine since the early 90s.
Hey thanks for free planters plans and I am subscribed ! LOVE the COLOR coded cut plans great help !!
thank you 🙂
I made this today in about 2 hours without the right tools. Turned out great! I only used Brad nails. I’ll see how it holds up.
Nice, simple, clean build! I will be building a few of these with my 13 year old son, I need to teach him how to use my tools so this will be a great project to work on together. I subscribed and just requested your plans. Thank you!
А чё он весь на клею? А где уголки и черные саморезы?
If the plans are free then why ask for name address and phone number. Makes no sense at all so I decided to pass on the free plans!! Smh
Great little project. I modified the build from the plans a bit by beefing up the internals to essentially 2×2 skeleton and added a lid. I keep it out by the garden and it has a little tool rack inside for a small trowel, clippers, garden twine, and other tools. No more having to run back and forth from the shop or garage chasing tools. Plus with the beefier frame, old folks can sit on it for a short rest.
What kind of price would you ask for that box
