Do you spray anything like Tenacity or another herbicide in those holes to deal with any left over roots?

  4. Chris Lion on June 15, 2022 at 9:30 pm

I’ve had one of these for a few years. It works great. And it’s kind of fun!

  5. Thoughmuchistaken on June 15, 2022 at 9:30 pm

I’ve got north of 100 000 goldenrod plants I’m considering hand pulling in my field, may purchase this.

Looks like a great tool but $40.00 IMO is a bit pricey

I feel like I could pull 3 weeds by hand (and maybe a hand shovel) in the amount of time this tool pulled 1. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  9. Randy Inglett on June 15, 2022 at 9:36 pm

Got my tool today. It’s a 100 degrees at 3pm. I still went out to attack a few of my monstrous dandilion problems. Previously I used Roundup(ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATED) on this problem. NOT GOOD. THEN I used the Grandpa’s Weeder.
    THIS THING IS AMAZING.
I have a lot of work to do but it’s better than killing my other grasses.
Footnote: this is a "in the country yard" it’s very large and consists of grasses and low growing weeds. Weed and feed almost killed everything but the dandilion. Super product

If you want to put a new handle on it and can’t take it out try drilling the wood out if the handle has broken. I would use an old drill and should work quite well

A followup on this tool I bought on your suggestion, and I’m wondering where it’s been all my life. So easy, and it works! It is sturdy and will save your back. It’s almost fun to use. Thanks for reviewing and linking to it.

  12. The Umbrella Man on June 15, 2022 at 9:40 pm

I bought this off your recommendation. The first weed I pulled with it, I stood there for a second, and I laughed out loud. My neighbor must think I’m crazy but he just doesn’t get it.

How have I been overlooking this weed puller? Holy smokes, it really works!

  13. Ralph Fuller on June 15, 2022 at 9:40 pm

Another very good cheap option is a 20 to 25 oz. framers straight claw hammer! You can get one for $8.00 at Harbor Freight. It usually takes one blow from the straight claw to get the weed and root out!

  14. rayanik on June 15, 2022 at 9:43 pm

I bought the Grandpa’s weed remover after watching the video. WOW…..removing weeds was a snap. Love it. Thank you!

  15. Herman Steijn on June 15, 2022 at 9:45 pm

    How much is your commission?

  16. Thomas Noble on June 15, 2022 at 9:46 pm

Actually my grandma had a version of this. Thanks for the video which reminded me of it. I am actually one of those oddballs who cultivate a cover lawn- so this is a blessing since broadleaf herbicides get clover as well.

  17. Nicola Pegg on June 15, 2022 at 9:47 pm

That wouldn’t work on my heavy hard clay soil, first part wouldn’t break the ground

  18. Dragon y2k on June 15, 2022 at 9:47 pm

I took one out then looked up and saw a field of thousands of weed… I put that weed puller away and jumped on the lawn mower and mowed.

  19. Lo Lo on June 15, 2022 at 9:50 pm

Weeded does the job for me. No need for manual tools.

What can grass seed do you use?

  23. 1vw4me on June 15, 2022 at 9:56 pm

The problem with this tool isn’t so much where the metal lower attaches to the wood handle. It has to do with the quality of the metal casting, and in particular, the lever. After so many uses, the metal just fails at it’s fulcrum point and snaps off. That’s because this is made from Chinesium garbage pot metal that is nothing like the US steel used decades ago. If I could find a 40 year old one of these to restore, I would. But buying a new Chinesium one? No!

  24. Lena C on June 15, 2022 at 9:58 pm

I bought this after seeing this video. I actually enjoy pulling weeds now. Works amazing in grass, dirty, or mulch areas. I wish it worked in rocky areas. Thanks for the great suggestion!

  25. Herman Steijn on June 15, 2022 at 9:59 pm

It sucks…. Rhizomes stay in the soil.

  26. Trevor G Welch on June 15, 2022 at 9:59 pm

    Try Vinegar or Dissolved iron

  27. Eugene Lasartemay on June 15, 2022 at 9:59 pm

Can the Tenacity be used after (1 week) you have already put Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed?

  28. drumtwo4seven on June 15, 2022 at 10:02 pm

I THINK ILL MAKE IT MYSELF

  29. Darkmand8 on June 15, 2022 at 10:02 pm

Is this even effective in the edge?

  30. ˌmōdəs ˌäpəˈrandē on June 15, 2022 at 10:03 pm

    So. Mine arrived today.
    The box is a mere 37" x 30" x 3"
    Delivered by the USPS.
Amazon probably paid the USPS $1.72 to deliver.
I wonder why the USPS has money issues.
Someone should make a channel that exposes Amazon’s sometimes crazy packaging.
I love Amazon but their packaging decisions are hilarious at times.

Great video! Is this made in the U.S with U.S. steel? Thanks

  32. andrew albright on June 15, 2022 at 10:06 pm

Perfect for me. I love clover but hate crabgrass

  33. Chris Happ on June 15, 2022 at 10:09 pm

Not recommended for chickweed, which makes up my whole front yard.

  34. Davida Williams on June 15, 2022 at 10:10 pm

Guess what? I should have gotten this IMMEDIATELY! IT’S SOLD OUT!!!

  35. Taylor Lubbeck on June 15, 2022 at 10:10 pm

Clover in the lawn? Well might as well torch the yard and restart.

  36. Christian Lezama Cardoso on June 15, 2022 at 10:11 pm

Summer is coming up. Do you still recommend this product?

  39. Hey, Folks! on June 15, 2022 at 10:13 pm

Last time I used a tool like this it "got all the weed out" and then a few weeks later I saw weeds growing out of all the spots where I’d pulled.

  40. Christine Jordan on June 15, 2022 at 10:13 pm

I think I would love this tool more if the prongs were a little longer

  41. navdeep kaushal on June 15, 2022 at 10:13 pm

Please suggest something to get rid of clovers, in summer as well as winter.

  42. jim mchugh on June 15, 2022 at 10:14 pm

    Great videos,
I like your recommendations for yard tools, Mowers, great blog

  43. TNT on June 15, 2022 at 10:14 pm

Do you tell me what kinda weed was that you pulling out. I’ve sprayed tenacity earlier this spring but it only burned top leaf and then it started sprouted again with new leaves. Right now I’m just mowing to avoid any new seeds to generate. I will buy this tool but I’ve so many of those weeds bcs previous owner won’t able to mow regularly and seeds spread all over my backyard.

  44. irishgrl on June 15, 2022 at 10:17 pm

I have the Fiskars version. I love it. It’s been recommended by arthritis foundation too I believe!

  45. Luis Martinez on June 15, 2022 at 10:17 pm

I got myself one I’m 34 and have back issues. This is the best ever. So easy to use.

  46. ThatGuyThatDoesStuff on June 15, 2022 at 10:19 pm

I have the Fiskars version. It actually works tremendously. It’s a lot of plastic though, so if it ever breaks, I like this look of this.

  47. Joe Glenn on June 15, 2022 at 10:19 pm
