9:25 if you want to see the most hardcore plants.
Very very helpful plant video, thanks men
I’ve had a zz plant for years. I literally neglect the hell out of it and it just thrives.
Let’s starve these humans and see what happens in the name of science
How do you know it’s the species and not the individual plants with just 1 of each.
ZZ is the absolute best beginner’s plant.
Rubbish video, not serious enough to demonstrate the real concepts.
I want to know which one lives the longest without water
Next show us if can grow mushrooms in the dark. I think it will work.
This video has opened many doors for me. Thank you for doing this!!!!
my zz plant and snake plant both rot cause cause of over watering, luckily manage to save them
Hi guys… it was a such a great experiment which I shared with my Grade 3 class UNTIL… you dropped the F*bomb and I NEARLY died… Maybe try edit it out so its suitable for all of the Science boffs out there. Thanks!
Oh omg zz….
I had a pineapple plant that died a few years ago i just threw it in the corner and forgot about it so i recently looked under my cupboard and found it had a new perfectly healthy plant growing out of it.
I put it outside 2 weeks ago and it’s doing amazingly well with temperatures down to 3c.
10M+ subscriber 😲😲
anything for science
Awesome video!
I killed like 5 or more of those sansevieria plants indoors within a month. So yeah, not my cup of tea 😅
I think Beyonce woulda hung on a lot longer if you watered her on time… Peace lilies are pretty thirsty. Obviously no wet feet
sorry spider plants are not good for low light settings they will decline fast
Fab experiment!!! Wonder how long the two finalists could live without light? 200 days? LOL
I need a hardier plant than a golden pathos for a small dark bathroom which occasionally gets light when the door opens…?
Fun facts: The Zamioculcas zamiifolia has leaves that can be used to grow new plants. You can take a whole or cut leaf and plant it, if you do it right.
Sansevieria trifasciata (aka Mother-in-law’s tongue) actually helps to clean the air moreso than other plants. Actually, this is supposedly true of most in that genus. They reproduce most commonly through splitting off underground. Some types in this genus have cylindrical leaves!
I’m honestly impressed, im an ag student and practicing farmer for over a decade now. Seeing some plants do with no care is interesting
ZZ-plant is called what would translate to "closet plant" in Swedish. Because you can literally keep them in a closet and they’d be happy.
I had a ZZ-plant stashed away in a dark corner of my room (with curtains closed most of the time) that I remembered to water maybe once or twice a year. It survived for years like that. Then it almost died on me when I took it out because it grew too big for its pot. I cut it down to just the little bulbs at the roots and repotted them. Just 5 months later it was a thriving, beautiful, plant! To this day, even tho I have like a hundred plants, this one will always have a special place in my heart.
As a plant daddy, this hurt my soul ☹️
how about the maranta?
:’)
Thanks for watching me STRUGGLE through quarantine 😂
You guys are the best and have made it a bit easier.

My wife KILLS plants… And, she has one of the winning species and one of here only longtime survivors.
It’s cool to see how little water some of the plants actually need. I was amazed by the snakeplant! I think this video does a lot; showing people that there’s plants that don’t require a lot of care. Now that I know my plants don’t need that much babying, I might have time to get more…
Overacting at its peak
Very cute video! Hope I’m able to find the snake plant at my local Home Depot or Lowes.
#melanin
My room has zero light i wish i had a plant that didnt need the sun
Im very much excited to see the winner. Many thanks for sharing
Im surprised the peace lily lasted so long, mine is so dramatic
The amount of dragrace reference is giving the plants light
Good 😃
How have I never found you guys before now?! Your enthusiasm and energy literally makes me so excited to watch your channel! So not the boring plant channels I’ve come across! 🥰
We need a video on how you cut and style your hair!!! PRONTO!!!!
Anyone else come here for the plant info, then discovery this dude was booted off of Big Brother Canada wayyyy too early and remember how disappointed they were??
Omg yes- Im Making My Room Plant Themed Like Crazy So This Was Needed!!
What a thorough experiment! Thanks so much for sharing the result. I have an office/gym with no windows and a door leading to the living room that I moved my zz to. My husband commented that it will die, but I think I’ll move her back 😉
Poor plants😑
Snake plants I swear are fake
Killed it..
I am loving this!!! I will definitely be purchasing the two winners for my dark and haunted home!
I bought a zz plant once at IKEA when I initially moved into my old apartment around 10 years ago. I think I honestly watered it like 20 times that entire time while it sat on my dresser with almost no light. It recently died a couple of months ago. I’m convinced those plant are near indestructible.
