How to Build a Raised Bed That Will Last With Stones
How to Build a Raised Bed That Will Last With Stones
I have built many raised beds in the past made out of lumber, but they all quickly rot away. In this video I show you how I built my new raised bed made out of stones.
By using bricks, this raised bed will last a long time. It may be more expensive, but building a raised garden bed made out of stones or bricks is worth the extra money, especially if you want to spend more time planting over the years and less time building new raised beds.
(2 mini stones equal one layer)
First layer of the raised bed: 32 (10×3.5×7 inch) interlocking stones (triangle shape) and two mini stones (7×3.5×1.75 inch).
Second Layer:82 mini stones (7.5x5x1.75), 12 Interlocking stones (10×3.5×7 inch) and 4 square stones (7×3.5×7 inches).
Third Layer: 13 Interlocking stones (10×3.5×7 inch), 8 square stones (7×3.5×7 inches) and 62 mini stones (7.5x5x1.75).

Looks very good!
This is very helpful. I have about as much area as you just showed in this video. I’ll see how good I can get. I need to get rid of the bamboo first though. Its too invasive.
It looks good, I would have turned the stones on the second layer so all the seems don’t line up.
Beautifully built!! I like the design a lot. what is the estimate cost?
One bad thing about this is that stones have little pocket gaps and so is attractive to many pill bugs. Pill bugs tend to munch on seedlings especially cucumbers and melon varieties.
