I may have said this before, but, the first album I bought was Pieces Aquarius Capricorn and Jones LTD by the Monkees. I still love that album. So many classic Monkees songs on that and some experimental stuff as well.. You can hear one of the first commercially available Moog Synthesizers on that album on the song Daily Nightly. It belonged to Monkee Mickey Dolenz. Favorite record??? That’s hard to say. It would have to be something life changing and there are a lot in that category as well…Let’s narrow it down to 5 favorite records of all time (besides the aforementioned Monkees album)..The Soundtrack to 2001 A Space Odyssey…Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie…Stranded by Roxy Music….Abbey Road by the Beatles….Here Come The Warm Jets by Brian Eno…(Then there’s Frank Zappa albums….and McCartney’s Ram….This Mortal Coil albums….See, I can’t narrow these things down)…. First concert I saw was Blue Oyster Cult during their Tyranny and Mutation tour with Manfred Mann opening. Great concert with all the black leather and playing guitars with bike chains (I think I’m remembering that right.) It was an exciting concert for my 14 year old self….I saw Sonny and Cher the next night..Ha! Quite a contrast…
Speaking of Cheap Trick I was listening to All Shook Up this past week and I must have played "Stop This Game" 20 times that day. My God what a great song…So powerful! Once again thanks for the great video!!
