What did you say that Mango originally came from Italy and its leading producer is Spain, today?
Your knowledge is least reliable and any trust worthy!
Living in London in 80s I closely observed throughout the year around, the production of mango round the globe and bought and tasted it coming from Formosa to Brazil.
Amazing, I couldn’t find it tastier than Sindhri of Indus Valley, not only being from my land but on the basis of its clear pulp and small stone, fine skin and above all its taste and colour!
That day I framed this axiom that:
Though Mango is no doubt king of fruits but Sindhri of Sindh is king of mangoes, but available fresh, only in the month of June!
Come and decide it yourself after tasting it on the farm and only best suitable for milk shake!

There is a state named ‘Keralam’ in South West cost of India. It literally translates ‘Land of coconuts/ coconut trees’. By the way I am from that state of India.

Mangoes originate from India over 4000 years ago. The name mango itself comes from the Indian language Tamil. From tamil, it got translated into malay, which then got picked up by the portugeese and then got translated into English.

I enjoyed how cantaloupe’s name originated in Cantalupo di Sabina, Italy even though nobody is 100% sure where it came from. Some people might say Afghanistan or Armenia. Cantaloupe also translates to howling wolf. I appreciate eating cantaloupe so this is very interesting.
