Hello Adela i love this… my question is can Snake plants stay in Jar with water forever rather than soil coz i preferred water than soil pls reply thank you๐น๐ปโค๏ธ
I had the same problem until i studies a way out. After thoroughly cleaning the rocks and container. Combined the plants and rocks in the vase. Use BOIL cold water to fill below the stone level, ensuring that the water is fully belong the stone level. Years will pass and you won’t need to even top up the water level. No slime or mole will you have to deal with. As the water dries out, there will be no nasty rim left around the vase. And when you eventually top up, don’t use the water to wash the dust from the top of the stones in your vase. Use a funnel to minimise dust contamination! Well that’s my secret I have just shared here! Enjoy! Also if the water is well below the stone, mosquito will not lay eggs or breed in that state. Also my plants strive far better with this method, they use to sometime die off, until i found this method.
I have 2 questions.
Wouldnโt I be able to just use Leca instead of rocks? I have lots of Leca and no rocks๐๐
The second questions. Can I do this with Snakeplants that already have roots and small pups? Or is it better to cut off the roots and pups so they roots from scratch?
I donโt want to loose my big Snakeplant in this process.
Thank you for this great video and I hope you see my questions.
Kind regards from Denmark.
I tried your idea but with colored sand instead of rocks. I found that I could hide soil by filling the cardboard tube from a spent toilet paper roll. Might need to trim it first so that the height is below the jar top. I stick a plant in, hold it upside down, then fill with moist soil from the bottom. Since it’s moist it holds together when turning right side up. Then just use a small funnel to direct sand around the sides. So far these still look great a year after seeing your video. It inspired me to try this variation. Thanks for sharing your video.
Due to photosynthesis
The bottle and pebbles turn green after some time
To stay clear and clean
Then needs lots of pebbles brushing
I personally think soil is still the best
As always beautiful ๐๐๐
how often do you change water?
Very nice ๐

I looks so pretty like this but won’t it get full of algae and go all green and slimy? Or do the plants use up the nutrients so algae can’t grow? ๐ค
